Stuck at a crossroads?
Let me help guide you through.
Life is a series of transitions. Some of these transitions seem to be effortless, while others rock us to our core. At times, due to a difficult change, we may find ourselves in a place of crisis, not knowing what to do next. A new baby, a new job, moving, PCSing (military move), graduating from high school or college, losing something or someone that defined you, moving into a new stage of life, retiring, or standing at the precipice of a new beginning. All of these and many more examples can cause people to feel stuck. It can feel as though we wake up one day and have no idea where we are or who we are. The panic sets in; depression, anxiety, and fear are also familiar companions in this place. Many have described the experience as being miserable every day but feeling frozen or unable to make a change.
Let’s take those first steps together.
When a person struggles to move through a tough transition, my first step is to listen to their story fully. Together we will discover how their journey brought them to this place and we’ll define their goals and dreams for the future. Then, we will explore anything that may be holding them back and search for ways to overcome these obstacles.
This work does not happen overnight though many of my clients tell me they feel a sense of renewed hope even after the first few sessions. I believe the biggest reason for this renewed hope is that when we are “stuck,” any movement is better than none. Simply taking action and seeking out help from a trained therapist is progress on your journey!
